About the Author

Dana M. Bell lives in Michigan and works as a professional counselor at Family Matters Counseling and Psychological Services Inc. She specializes in working with women, returning citizens, veterans and aged-out foster children.

She holds on to hope and faith firmly and encourages everyone around her to find the courage to make small changes in their life in order to become the best version of themselves and find purpose to lead a joyful life.

Dana earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health from Sienna Heights University and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University. As a parole agent, her decades-long experience and training within the criminal justice system have given her a nuanced understanding of the human psyche and a distinctive perspective on issues like trauma, domestic violence, and citizen re-entry.

Dana strongly advocates self-care, self-love, self-confidence building, and therapy. She loves interacting with people who want to change their lives and outlook and are keen on working towards it. She espouses the fact that while situations or circumstances may be tough, they are really temporary, and help is just one step away. She believes in the magic of hope and wishes to deliver it to as many people as possible.
